Hurricane Katrina 10th Anniversary

In the path of a killer hurricane many of the impoverished had little or no chance of survival. Without the necessary means or funds to evacuate, many poor people who lived in the 9th Ward of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina were forced to ride out one of the worst natural disasters to overtake the U.S.

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the city of New Orleans with deadly force. In the aftermath of the storm, the levees failed resulting in utter destruction in the city’s Lower 9th Ward. Ten years later, the Historic Lower Ninth Ward Association invites you to join the 9th Ward residents in remembering the devastation and celebrating the rebirth of the 9th Ward. Please join us for:
